Thank you so much! You'll have to thank Nicholas Coyle for the amazing scanning work. Love the colors he was able to pull out of it. I used a very broken Canon 514XLS. It had sit on my shelf for a few years and the battery compartment kept disconnecting leading to skipped frames.

@@Joshgoodencinematography My pleasure! the Canon 514XLS has an excellent lens and produces surprisingly crisp images. I know because a friend of mine, a passionate filmmaker, shoots entire features with this camera. Not ideal, but to quote Darious Britt: done is better than perfect. It's also very good to have a Super 8 camera with a side door, since the gate is much easier to clean. Just a side note. Best of luck with your future endeavors on film!

Thank you so much! I used a Metabones XL adapter for the Sigma 18-35. I don't really recommend it as it vignettes at 18mm, but towards the end of the trip I picked up a Leica 12mm 1.4 that was beautiful. If I still shot micro four thirds, I'd probably use the 25-50mm f/1.7 ASPH. Lens from Leica.

Canon 35mm EF 1.4 with the RF to EF adapter.

C-Log and graded in FCPX. I added some of the LUTs I use for my C200. C-Log isn’t super flat so it’s fairly easy to correct. I’m going to try the neutral color matrix for c-log next.

Thank you so much! I preordered both cameras to test. There are so many arguments against the R5 and I wanted to test it for myself. It’s definitely a 4K camera first and foremost with 8K bursts. If the overheating can be fixed or reduced, I think it would be excellent if you are already invested in Canon lenses. I didn’t experience these limitations on this shoot other than the 8K reduction in time.

Yeah man I have a Ninja V that I got to get prores raw on my S1H and never used it. Now it seems you can record 4K HQ, 4K 60, and 4K 60 cropped with no limits on the Ninja V! And the added bonus that you’re recording on prores already so my laptop will love me for it. I’ll see if it works out :) ... weight and bulk doesn’t scare me when it comes to my rig... and I’d really only use 8K and 4K120 very sparingly in tiny bursts!! so are you loving the R5 experience thus far?

@@storybookfilms944 Having everything already in ProRes would be so awesome! I'm definitely loving the camera so far since it is so tiny! I think the true test will be event work coming up over the next month. If I decide to keep it I'd definitely pick up the EF adapter with the built in ND since its so convenient. Let me know if you have any other questions. I hope to wrap this into an overall review over the coming weeks.

It’s simple. If you take photos serious and want to do video as well then get the R5 and make it work. External monitor, etc. if you’re going to focus on video then get the a7siii.

I only use manual focus with it. I tried some native Panasonic lenses at B&H in NYC and the AF wasn’t great. Other than that, the images are beautiful from it.

Thank you so much! The lenses used were M mount. I'd be curious to try the L versions, but love how small the M lenses are for travel.

I had a Tiffen Vari ND on some of the time, but it kept fogging up with all of the humidity.
